Bathroom Before, During & After

The previous owners had tiled around a claw-foot bath-tub in order to create a single tub look. Basically it was hideous. The bathroom demolition was horrendous!! It has taken forever and although we are super close, the sink is not yet functioning and the mirror is not yet in place. but the bathroom has come a very long way and looks sooo much better. :)

Living Rm Before and After

One of the first things we did when we purchased the house was paint!! Our next project for this room is re-finishing the floors. There are beautiful hardwood floors underneath this hideous carpet.
My other project is to remove all the curtains and put up black blinds. :) I'll post updated pics as soon as I have those in place. :)

Dining RM Buffet Before and After

This buffet is located in the dining room and this is what the buffet looked like when we purchased the house. We have since refinished it!!

Kitchen After

I started with staining our new cabinet.

We still have to put on the finishing pieces so that there is not a gap between the cabinet and the dishwasher. But this is a good shot of the new sink and faucet.

We went with a side by side refrigerator so we could have more food storage space. In such a small kitchen, we need at the storage space we can get. :)

We have yet to decide of open shelving or to keep the current cupboards white and change the hardware. It's important to create the illusion of more space. :) We don't have much to work with. :)

Kitchen Before

This is what the one side of the kitchen looked liked before the initial remodel.

We removed all the base cabinets except for the one directly under the sink, installed a dishwasher and new refrigerator.

We also installed a new sink, counter-top and faucet. :)

My First Blog

I am sooo excited!! I constantly search the internet for people who are in the same situation as myself...Renovation! So I decided to create my own blog and share with everyone the trials, tribulation, and triumph of home renovation.

My husband and I are going on the second year of our "flip". Last March (06) we purchased our first home together. It's a cute 1922 bungalow. I fell in love with the fireplace (which is not lined...therefore not up to Iowa fire code) and the red brick tile. I compromised on many aspects of my "dream" house so that we could get this little beauty and eventually make a ton of money off of it.

In the beginning we gave ourselves two years to complete a successful "flip". Since then our time line has change dramatically. I'm hoping to put the house on the market in October because I am ready to be DONE!!
